Episode 42 Sarah Beaugez

Today I speak with Sarah Beaugez. Sarah is an Ocean Springs native, an author, and a photographer of some of the most beautiful photos representing our great state. Sarah has traveled the state extensively. Through those travels she engages the wide array of citizens which inhabit this magnolia state. She even wrote a book about it called Encounters off the Beaten Path; a Book of Southern Short Stories. Sarah has a command of the English language and a talent for story telling. These stories highlight the amazing variability of friends along the coast, and throughout the state, while also explaining the impact each and every one of these interactions has on Sarah. In this book she grows through those interactions—a lesson we should all relearn.

Sarah, through her work, tells a story of Mississippi. She highlights what is the essence of this state. The love, the beauty, and even the past pains. Sarah also is working on a project to highlight the impact of poor citizens in the state also participating in the cotton industry alongside the slaves of this state. A painful past indeed.

Sarah and I talk about these subjects and more. She is a wonderful spirit and I’m thrilled to have her on the show. Everyone please welcome, Sarah Beaugez!!!
