Episode 15 Carolyn Price
As children, we often overlook the giants, whose shoulders, we walk on. Our adults that taket ime to influence us never really get the full appreciation they deserve. We grow up; we grow apart; we grow into ourselves. All of this occurs with the false understanding that we made our own path to becoem who we are. We neglect the influence imparted on us by the adults existing casually in our lives. Educators are a prime example. For 180 days a year, for 12-14 years, 8 hours a day, we are in close proximity to adults who will shape our perspectives and mold our minds. Yet we pay them almost no mind. Appreciation is due.
My guest today is Carolyn Price. Carolyn is a lifelong educator with a passion for the craft. She was my math teacher in 9th grade. Despite my own follies as an immature teen, Carolyn took time to force self-reflection on myself—a gesture that would take years to appreciate. We discuss her lasting effect on me through a short, two minute conversation. Of course we talk COVID and how this pandemic affects teachers and students alike. Much of the conversation is one of how our passions fuel our lives. Teaching in some respects is a thankless job with major societal ramifications. It takes well-natured, passionate people like Carolyn to mold our children and prepare future generations for success in a meaningful way.
Everyone I hope you find as much value in this episode as I did. Please welcome, Carolyn Price!!
