Episode 21 Robert Blackman

I have another episode here covering the elections in Ocean Springs. In local elections, you’re really tapping into the citizenry of the local population. As Ocean Springs is a culturally and artistically diverse city, so too are the citizens. Many of those within the city are very talented artists, themselves. Robert Blackman is one of those individuals. Robert is a musical talent who still plays—well in a non-pandemic environment. His band is called the $2 beers.

Robert is a friendly man with a friendly candor. He’s easy to sit down with. It honestly felt as though I was just catching up with an old friend, despite meeting him in person only once before. Robert is an incumbent Alderman. His ward is ward 5. Robert speaks with the tongue of passion for his ward. I’m always amazed at how simple conversations can evoke purpose out of their words. Robert feels purpose for his ward and his city in the way he speaks. It’s quite comforting.

Robert and I talk about all of the key issues in a city with unlimited potential for beauty and artistic exploration. You’re going to have a blast listening to this one.
